Kidnappers whisk businessman from Kaduna market

A popular chemical dealer identified as Alhaji Muntari was on Friday abducted from his shop close to bakin-dogo in Kaduna central market.


DailyTrust gathered that the kidnappers stormed the market at the early hours of today (yesterday) in a Sharon car, shooting into the air as they took him away.

"They went straight into his shop to take him away. I am sure the abductors worked on information because there are many traders in the market, why him? They must have gotten information that he is a successful business man, " a trader in the market said.

The occurrence aroused fear and anxiety in both traders and buyers who all scampered for safety while the operation was going on.

Traders in the market therefore called on the state government and security agencies to ensure the protection and security of both buyers and sellers in the market.


The spokesperson to the Kaduna State police command, ASP Mukhtar Aliyu could not be reached as at the time of filing this report.
