Emergency on Education: Sokoto to commence survey on 120 schools (By dailytrust.com.ng)

Sokoto State government is to commence conduct of second pilot survey on 120 Basic and Secondary Schools in Sokoto in the next two weeks.

Chairman, Technical Committee on the implementation of the State of Emergency on Education, Prof. Riskuwa Shehu who disclosed this while speaking on the planned survey, said it would cover the entire state.

He noted that   the second survey followed the first one conducted by the committee on 40 schools in the state.

According to him, the state government had commenced implementation of recommendations made by the committee on moving the education sector forward.

He said the survey would seek to use some instruments crucial in the provision of quality education such as staff to classrooms ratio, students to teachers ratio, students' population, availability of classrooms and the quality of teachers.

Others he added, included availability and quality of facilities including laboratories, libraries, Information Technology and staff welfare.
