The Non-teaching Staff of the Nigerian Universities have threatened to disrupt the 2018 Joint Admission and Matriculation Board’s (JAMB) Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination(UTME) which is to hold from Friday, across the country.
The three unions are the Senior Staff Association of University (SSANU), Non Academic Staff Union of Universities (NASU) and the National Association of Academic Technologists (NAAT) Chiarman of JAC, who is also SSANU Chairman, Mr Samson Ugwoke, issued the threat at a meeting of the National JAC with the Principal Branch Officers on Wednesday in Abuja.
It would be recalled that Sen Chris Ngige, Minister of Labour and Employment, had a conciliatory meeting with the Non-Teaching Staff of Nigerian Universities on Tuesday in order to call off the prolong strike.
Ugwoke said that this has become imperative as the Federal Government has continued to renege on the agreement it entered with the unions. The DG warned that no one either government agency, private, non governmental, donor or individual are permitted to do any form of activity or business relating to seed without the notification of NASC.
He said the directive also apply to all international support agencies who at various times and various sources procure seeds using their international procurement criteria without recourse to law.
